  • 1 pound of canned Salmon
  • 3-4 diced potatoes
  • 2 tbsp minced onion
  • 2 tbsp chopped celery
  • 1 cup corn
  • 1 quart Low-fat evaporated milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Pinch of pepper

How to cook Amish Salmon Chowder:

  • Drain and flake salmon, reserving liquid, remove skin and bones.
  • Combine potatoes, onion, celery and reserved salmon liquid in saucepan.
  • Add water, enough to cover, and simmer, covered until vegetables are nearly tender.
  • Add flaked salmon, corn, salt, pepper, evaporated milk and heat slowly until thoroughly heated.
  • Add butter and serve the Amish Salmon Chowder hot with crackers.
