Microwave Baked Plaice Recipe - A microwave recipe calling for plaice, onion, crab meat, and cream.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds Plaice fillets
  • 1/2 pound fresh crab meat or 1 (8 oz) can crab meat, or 1 can of salmon
  • 1 egg white, slightly beaten
  • 2 tbsp cream or milk
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 3 tbsp green onion, minced
  • 3 tbsp parsley, minced
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1/4 cup soda crackers, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp curry powder
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Parsley to garnish
  • Lime or lemon slices to garnish

Louisiana Plaice Fillets Recipe

How to cook Louisiana Plaice Fillets:

  • Place the fillets in salt water and let it soak for 10 minutes.
  • Rinse well under cold running water, drain it well.
  • Cut fish into 6 servings lightly wipe fish with paper toweling.
  • Place fish into a glass dish 7 x 11-inch.
  • Transfer butter or margarine into a dish add green onion, parsley and onion.
  • Microwave for 2 minutes on 'MAXIMUM'.
  • Mix well and microwave for 2 minutes more, on 'MEDIUM-MAXIMUM'.
  • Mix in crab meat, with juices if canned.
  • Mix in crushed soda crackers, curry powder, pepper, salt, egg white and cream or milk. Mix well.
  • Evenly spread mixture over. Cover with waxed paper.
  • Microwave on 'MAXIMUM' for 5 minutes, until fish is easily broken-up with a fork.
  • Garnish with parsley and lime or lemon slices.

Insert the blade of a sharp knife on one side behind the head and cut in an arc down to the bone. Then achieve the flesh along the sides and across the tail. Insert the knife behind the head and slip the knife down rib cage, cutting the fillet away from the ribs. To skin the fillet, place it skin-side down on a board and starting from the tail, slide a sharp knife between the skin and the flesh.
